Austrian
Open-air museum Stübing

With over 100 historical buildings on an area of 65 hectares, the Austrian open-air museum in Stübing is one of the largest open-air museums in Europe. The 20 residential buildings and numerous special buildings all originate from other parts of Austria. The arrangement of the buildings in the valley conveys the impression of being in a historic farming village. The grocer’s shop, school, mill and smithy give an impression of how shopping, work and raising children worked in everyday life back then.

Rural vehicles and tools as well as numerous exhibitions, some of which change every year, round off the journey into the past.

Admission is free for young people and students under the age of 19!

Le Bootshaus

You want to drift down the Mur River by boat or experience some action while discovering the river? That and pretty much everything in between is what the LE Bootshaus has to offer. It offers all kinds of aquatic sport – like Patschnasstours, Stand-Up Paddle courses or the CO2 free Greentour and adventure tours that last multiple days. You may also have great fun on the MEGA SUP or party events complete with snacks on the water.

At the end of the tour, the ultimate group challenge awaits you. The jump from the station bridge into the cold water will weld you together forever and remain in your memories forever!

The wild mountain of Mautern

The wild mountain offers reduced prices for school classes and groups and great programs such as guided tours, puzzle rallies or project days. In the wildlife park, you can watch bears and foxes being fed or be amazed by the animal acrobats at the flight show.

You can return to the valley on the summer toboggan run or on a mountain kart! The best way to get to Wilden Berg Mautern is by train, the Wildpark Shuttle takes you from the station directly to the valley station.

Lurgrotte Peggau & Semriach

The Lurgrotte is the largest active water cave in Austria. Accessible from two sides, the guided tours provide a fascinating insight into the history of our planet.

Thanks to the well-maintained and illuminated paths, the exciting journey into the world of stalactites and stalagmites is safe. Experience a natural wonder that will leave a lasting impression on you!

The starting points for a visit to the Lurgrotte are Semriach and Peggau. Crossing the cave is no longer possible after a flood in 1975.
