On April 26, 2022, the Styrian Parliament passed an amendment to the Styrian Tourism Act and the Overnight Accommodations and Vacation Rentals Tax Act 1980. The corresponding official announcement was made in the Provincial Law Gazette No. 46/2022.
This results in the following legal changes for you, which we would like to inform you about:
The overnight tax will be increased from € 1.50 to € 2.50 per person per overnight stay effective November 1, 2022.
50% of the revenue from the overnight stay tax is due to the municipality, which has to dedicate this share to tourism-promoting purposes. The remaining 50% of the revenue from the overnight tax is to be paid by the municipality to the state by the 15th of the following month.
We have adjusted our offers in accordance with the legal requirements and ask for your understanding.
